Advisory regarding Consular Services

Kindly refer to our earlier advisory dated 23.03.20. It is noticed that routine consular applications regarding passports, attestations, PCCs etc. are still being received by the Embassy. Kindly note that only emergency consular applications will be processed due to the National Emergency in force in Portugal and consequent restrictions in place.  It is therefore reiterated that routine applications may be submitted only after the situation returns to normalcy.

 

  1. Applicants who have an emergency and need urgent Consular services should send their applications by post, along with an Email explaining the nature of the emergency toconspassport.lisbon@mea.gov.in or call the Embassy's 24x7 Emergency Helpline

If no email/phone call is received by the Embassy in support of the application, it will be treated as a routine application and processed in due course.

 

  1. It may be noted that the Government of Portugal has suspended all SEF appointments till June 30 and announced that they will be rescheduled from 1st July onwards.Since PCCs are only valid for a period of 3 months, applicants are advised to send their PCC applications not earlier than 40 days preceding the date of their new SEF appointment, supported by proof of the SEF appointment date.
