Timeline to be followed for the Academic Year 2023-24

OFFER OF SCHOLARSHIPS BY INDIAN COUNCIL FOR CULTURAL  RELATIONS( ICCR) FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2023-24

A. The Government of India under the aegis of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is offering  one scholarship slot to Portuguese Nationals under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship Scheme (A1201) (formerly General Scholarship Scheme)  for the academic year 2023-24.

The Scholarship being offered is with return Air Fare.  The Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship Scheme is one of the most important and popular schemes of the ICCR for foreign students to pursue higher studies in Indian universities and educational institutions.

Interested students can apply for scholarship online through ICCR’s A2A Scholarship Portal at http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in.

The portal contains all the relevant information for the applicants including details of all participating Universities/Institutes, courses offered, availability of hostels, application guidelines, eligibility criteria and other relevant information for helping the applicants in decision-making while applying for the academic courses of their preference.

Last date of submission of online Application is 30-April-2023.

B. ICCR Scholarship Scheme for Dance, Music, and Yoga:  India has a unique identity in its culture and heritage special in Music and Dance to explore possibilities worldwide. Apart from the  Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship, ICCR, under Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship Scheme (A1209) (formerly ICCR Scholarship Scheme for Indian Culture), also offers 100 Scholarships to foreign students for pursuing study of Indian Culture such as Dance, Music, theatre, performing art, sculpture, Indian languages, Indian cuisine, etc. at Indian Universities/Institutes for the academic year 2023-24 . 

This scholarship has the same timeline as the Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship. Interested students can  visit the portal for further information: http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in

Open ICCR A2A Portal for admissions.

30-April-2023

Last date of application to be submitted by students.

31- May- 2023

Last date of Universities to inform the decision (if confirmed, intimation to Embassy; if rejected, intimation to students).

30-June-2023

Last date of allocating scholarship and University and generating an Offer Letter by Indian Embassy.

15-July-2023

Last date of acceptance by students.

22-July-2023

Based on the number of acceptances in the first round (if acceptance are less than the scholarship seats allocated) Indian Embassy to offer scholarship to other students who were not considered in the first round.

30-July-2023

Helpline for ICCR Scholarship Students

A dedicated helpline email "studenthelpline.iccr[at]gov[dot]in" has been created by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR):
1. to streamline the grievances redressal mechanism for ICCR sponsored foreign students,
2. to answer queries, requests from foreign students regarding various issues pertaining to their stipend, HRAs, medical problems, admission methodology, hostel issues etc.

This Helpline is exclusively meant for students who wish to apply under various ICCR scholarship schemes, current students and the alumni.
