2021 IMC India Calling Conference, 12 March 2021

The IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mumbai (formerly Indian Merchants’ Chamber) is set to hold the 2021 IMC India Calling Conference on Friday, 12 March 2021. As an annual feature established by the IMC, it aims to provide a networking platform for Indian and global players to come together and debate, share insights and explore potential investment opportunities and collaboration. Each year, the event revolves around selected focus sectors where maximum opportunities are available. This year, the Conference will focus on the following two sectors: Smart Infrastructure and Green Technology – Mobility and Sustainability.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event will be held in a hybrid format – online as well as with in-person presence. The venue for the physical conference is the Hotel Taj Lands End in Mumbai, which will have restricted seats to comply with social distancing norms. More information on the online platform will be available shortly – for now, please see this  Background Paper.

Interested parties can register for participation by sending the Registration Form duly filled in to Ms Vanita Ghuge at vanita.ghuge[at]imcnet.org; a joining link will then be sent closer to the event.  For participating members, the IMC would be also happy to arrange relevant meetings online.

The Conference will bring together policy makers, government officials, economists, banks and financial institutions, companies, logistic providers, investors, academic institutions, industry associations and other experts to discuss and share insights into development of markets in India, policy inputs and opportunities for companies to invest and collaborate in the above two sectors. The IMC India Calling Conference 2021 is an excellent opportunity to participate and obtain a comprehensive understanding of opportunities, projects and policies in India for investment and collaboration in the areas of Smart Infrastructure (opportunities in key components of smart cities in the digital era like securing cities, smart mobility, smart parking, intelligent transport networks for urban transport, best practices from across India, solid and water waste management, Smart health and sanitation, and others) and Green Technology  (renewable energy, electric vehicles and batteries, green buildings and lighting, green composting, and others).  The participation will also provide a great platform for networking with executives and decision makers of Indian companies and of government authorities relevant to the focus areas of the Conference.

The 2020 edition unfortunately had to be cancelled due to Covid-19, but the post-conference report of the IMC India Calling 2019 event held on 25 March 2019 will offer an idea of the scale of the usual conference participation, including from various ministries, government agencies, diplomatic missions and international delegates:
