India-Portugal Science & Technology Cooperation

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) organized UNispace Nanosatellite Assembly & Training (UNNATI) capacity building programme at the U. R. Rao Satellite Center from 15 Jan to 15 Mar 2019. From Portugal, Engineer José Ferreiraparticipated in the programme. Hands-On training was carried out using a modified version of the Indian Nano-Satellite 1C (INS-1C), the third of the Indian nano-satellite series. The remote sensing payload is a Miniature Multispectral Technology Demonstration (MMX-TD) camera from ISRO Space Applications Centre (SAC) which is useful to gather data for topographical mapping, vegetation monitoring, and cloud and aerosol scattering studies. Over 30 delegates from 17 countries participated in the first batch of UNNATI programme.
