India Business Seminar in Porto (22.11.2017)

Embassy of India in Lisbon organised an India Business Seminar at the Palácio da Bolsa in Porto on November 22, 2017.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador of India to Portugal Mrs. K. Nandini Singla highlighted the recent investment friendly initiatives and ease of doing business in India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mayor of Porto Dr Rui Moreira lauded GoI efforts towards skill development and higher education. He remarked that Northern Portugal was the power house of the country, exporting 50% more than import.
President of Associação Empresarial de Portugal (AEP) Mr. Paulo Nunes de Almeida mentioned how AEP had identified India as one of four Far East Asian markets of importance. He stated that there was a lot potential to integrate the Portuguese and the Indian markets.
Minister of Commerce, Industry and Employment, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh Shri Rajendra Shukla gave a brief presentation on recent policy initiatives of Govt. of Madhya Pradesh in the important areas such as infrastructure, land.
The presentations by Mr. D. P. Ahuja, Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Trade & Investment Facilitation Corporation Ltd. and Ms. Shuchita Sonalika, Director and Head, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) UK Office were followed by QnA session.
After the event, Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla visited CEiiA in Matosinhos - a company which specialises in industrial design (aerospace & defence, car industry etc).
